Empowering our donors to create the change that matters to them is at the heart of what we do. Donor-advised funds (DAF) make it easy for you to give to the causes you cherish and make lasting change in your communities. Don’t know how to get started? Keep reading for manageable best practices and tips to make granting out of your DAF habitual.
- Regular granting - Granting from your DAF each year ensures your generosity is making a difference today. While there is no required distribution attached to DAFs, creating a consistent granting strategy, such as setting an annual or quarterly schedule or percentage you want to grant out each year, ensures your giving remains intentional and helps strengthen communities today and in the future.
- Disaster resiliency – Strong communities start with proactive giving. Oftentimes, disaster strikes without warning and donations surge. People far and wide come together to support communities in need. However, reactive giving isn’t always enough. Non-profits need year-round funding to build resilience, strengthen communities, and respond to disasters effectively. By granting proactively, you can support the causes you cherish before disaster happens, not just after.
- Collaborative funds – You can collaborate with other donors through Thrivent Charitable to make an even greater impact.
