Real estate and complex assets
What is a gift of real estate or a complex asset?
The minimum gift for real estate, whether it’s an outright gift of real estate, through life estate reserved, or to a charitable remainder unitrust, is $200,000. This minimum is due to the administrative costs associated with accepting and processing gifts of real estate. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for gifts of condominiums or raw land.
